Rx Detail Header

The Rx Detail header is the box displayed across the top of the screen, containing the authorization, the fill date, last fill date, and a Wait dropdown allowing you to assign or change the wait status for a prescription.

The information in the header depends on the type of prescription being filled:

The header displays the following information:

  • Rx: The prescription's Rx number displays. A prescription is assigned an Rx number once it is filled, multi-filled, queued, or put on hold. The Rx tab indicates New, Refill or ReAuth until the Rx number is assigned.
  • Auth: PharmaClik Rx automatically creates an authorization number for the prescription. The authorizing prescription number (Auth Rx) and authoring date (Auth Date) are shown in this field. Refills use the same authorization number as the original prescription. However, refills are assigned a new authorization number if you change the QA.
  • Fill: The date the prescription was filled is shown here. The date is entered automatically when the prescription is filled, queued, or put on hold. The fill date can also be backdated using Rx > Set Fill Date.
  • Last Fill: If the prescription is a refill, the last date the prescription was filled is shown here. It also indicates the number days since the last refill.
    • A new prescription has no previous authorization and therefore does not have a last fill date.
    • A refill has previous authorization and therefore has a last fill date. When a prescription refill is opened in Rx Detail and it has not yet been filled, the number of days since the last fill date will be calculated based on the current date.
    • When viewing a completed refill, the number of days in the Last Fill field will display the number of days between the prescription’s fill date (the date in the Fill field) and the previous fill date (the date in the Last Fill field).
  • Wait dropdown: Allows you to assign/change the wait status for the prescription (e.g. Waiting, 1 Hour, 4+ Hours, Tomorrow, 2-3 Days). For more information on wait statuses, see Prioritizing Prescriptions Using Wait Statuses.

Filling a New Prescription

When a prescription is opened in Rx Detail, the Auth field is 0 and the Last Fill field is blank. The Prescription dropdown will not indicate a prescription number.

Refilling a Hold Prescription

When refilling from a Hold prescription, the main tab will be called Rx: New. The Auth field displays the authorizing prescription number and authorization date from the Hold prescription. The Last Fill field will be blank since the prescription has not yet been dispensed. The Prescription dropdown does not indicate a prescription number.

Refilling a Prescription

When a refill is opened in Rx Detail, the main tab will be called Rx: Refill. The Auth field displays the authorizing prescription number and authorization date. The Last Fill field indicates the date the prescription was last filled, as well as the number of days ago that it was filled. The Prescription dropdown indicates the prescription number for the last fill.

Reauthorizing a Prescription

When a refill requiring new authorization is opened in Rx Detail, the main tab will be called Rx: ReAuth. The Auth field will be 0 since new authorization needs to be assigned. The Last Fill field indicates the date the prescription was last filled, as well as the number of days ago that it was filled. ThePrescription dropdown indicates the prescription number for the last fill.
